Nightclub Insurance
Insurance for a night club will be fairly similar to other types of commercial business insurance policy, especially those involved in the licensed trade such as public houses and wine bars. Cover is available under a number of different headings. As with most other types of policy a full range of perils is available with many optional extras.
One of the main sections is the nightclub building, although in the situation where, the club premises are rented from a landlord, he will usually assume responsibility for the insurance of the building and charge the occupier accordingly. However, any glass or signs (such as advertising signs, neon club signs etc) erected by the night club owner, will usually remain the insurance responsibility of the occupier and must be insured accordingly. Other sections of the policy will include all of the nightclub fixtures and fittings, such as table’s chairs, fixtures & fittings etc and will include any sound equipment in use as well as all of the catering equipment if there is any on the premises. Sometimes, nightclubs will have equipment on rental from a supplier, this is often the case with EPOS equipment and you should check the terms of rental carefully as you will probably be responsible for the insurance.
Nightclubs usually carry fairly high levels of stock, particularly alcohol and these can also be insured against theft and a wide range of perils. One of the core sections of the policy covers loss of money, as nightclubs can at times have a good deal of cash on the premises, it is important to ensure that this section is adequate for your needs.
Liability insurance will also be included for both Public & Employers Liability as well as Products liability which relates to the sale of goods. In deciding on the rating for your nightclub insurance, most underwriters will look at it’s location and want full details of the physical securities in place. Other factors will of course include the sums insured, the type of facilities on offer at the premises, the opening hours and the capacity of the venue. As well as nightclubs, this type of policy will also include Bingo Halls, Theatre, Arts Centers & other places of entertainment
