Looking for Watch Insurance?

At Assetsure we realise that often a wristwatch is a person’s most valuable personal possession and that also obtaining insurance is sometimes not that easy. We are a bit different from other insurance intermediaries, in that we are able to obtain cover for watches as single items, we don’t require you to insure the rest of your home and contents with us.

We have facilities and can arrange a policy that will provide insurance cover to provide watch insurance for single items or collections. We provide watch insurance for all the major popular brands including: Rolex, Omega,Tag- Heuer, IWC, Breitling ,Hublot, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Patek Philippe ,Audemars Piguet, Cartier, Bremont ,Bulgari but of course will be happy to quote for watch insurance on any type of watch including pocket watches & chronometers.

One of the advantages of insuring your watch via us is that you can protect your valuable home insurance no claims bonus, the policy we provide is completely separate and will replace specified items without deduction of excess.

Often, we find that many modern policy wordings have limits on “All Risks” and someone with a high value watch simply cannot obtain the cover they require without taking out a specialist watch policy.

We are based in the UK and the policies we arrange are designed for persons that are normally resident in the United Kingdom, we arrange worldwide all risks cover with no restrictions on how many trips abroad a year you make (maximum duration per trip 60 days).

How does watch insurance work?

We support you in acquiring standalone watch insurance for your most valuable watches and it works the same as any other insurance policy you take out. Once you contact us and let us know the details about the watch you would like to get protection for, we will be able to produce a quote, which is usually provided on the same day. If you decide to buy the policy through us, you will receive your policy via email with the policy starting when you specified, giving you watch insurance protection when you need it. Cover cannot be backdated.

Where can I insure my watch?

If you are looking for a specialist in watch insurance, then you have definitely come to the right place. We are experts in providing watch insurance protection for a wide range of watches providing same day quotes. Our policy will cover you on a worldwide basis for unlimited trips abroad of up to 60 days duration each trip, your watch will be covered if you take in on holiday or a business trip subject to the terms and conditions of the policy.

Why do I need watch insurance?

Watches are delicate items that can be easily damaged and are often targeted by thieves, a valuable watch is easy to spot of someone’s arm.

We understand that watches can be a person’s most valuable and favourite item they own and if you ever lost it, had it stolen or damaged it, having watch insurance ensures you are covered if you needed to repair (following accidental damage) or obtain a replacement. Insurance is important for valuable items and we will be pleased to assist you with a quotation.

Insurance for a single watch

At Assetsure, unlike many intermediaries and insurers, we can provide insurance for a single watch, so if that is all you wish to insure, we should be able to help. We can supply a policy suitable for your watch and you will have the option to add other watches or items of jewellery throughout the policy term if required.

What does our specialist watch insurance cover?

At Assetsure we are able to obtain specialist watch insurance that provides the wide cover you need to cover a valuable item. Watch insurance cover arranged by Assetsure includes:

Worldwide All Risks Insurance - Physical loss or damage for your watch on a worldwide “All Risks” basis. (maximum 60 days abroad any one trip) There are no country restrictions.

No Excess - If you have to make a claim under your policy, there is no deduction of any excess (the first portion of the loss that you are normally required to pay)

Insure just one Item - We can insure single watches or whole collections

Specified Items - We will provide you with a schedule of insurance with a full description of the watch you are insuring.

No bonus to lose - By insuring your watch separately via us, you can help protect any valuable no clams bonus earned under your home insurance policy.

A variety of payment options - We accept, all major credit and debit cards and monthly direct debits.

Accidental Loss

How easy is it to lose a watch ?

It's surprisingly easy to lose a watch, even the best quality watches can have straps that fail unexpectedly and the watch can fall off the wrist, if busy it may be a while before you notice the item is missing.

We can arrange insurance to protect you against loss, However you will be expected to take reasonable care of your watch as you would with any valuable item. Your insurers will also require you to assist them with it's recovery by retracing steps and places you visited before the loss was noticed.

When travelling away from home you must be wearing the watch or it must be left in a safe (a normal hotel room safe is adequate) All watch losses must be reported to the police including local police if you are abroad.

Theft

Unfortunately watches get stolen, we make sure you are covered if the worst happens.

Theft

Thieves are on the lookout for valuable watches.

A valuable watch such as a Rolex, Omega, or Tag Heuer proudly displayed on your wrist is a beacon to thieves, they know the expensive brands and often will have a detailed knowledge of the model as well. Thieves are well aware of the value of second hand watches and in the case of some Rolex models for example, replacement second hand, can costs more than acquiring the model brand new. This is often the situation with particularly desirable models, as there can be a waiting list to obtain one.

Many thieves are quite adept at removing watches from your wrist, they’ll know how the clasps and straps work and often will operate in teams employing diversionary tactics to steal your item without you realising it.

Other thieves take a more brutal approach threatening violence against you personally or using it to break in to your home or a gym locker where the watch has been left.

A policy arranged by Assetsure, will cover you against Theft including when it has been left at home or in a gym locker or a safe whilst you are away from you home.

Watches over £10,000 left at home will also need to be kept in a safe. All Thefts must be reported to the police including reporting it to the police locally if you are abroad.

Accidental Damage

Accidents happen, and your policy will ensure that your item can be repaired or replaced.

Accidental Damage

Accidental Damage can mean an expensive repair bill.

Wear and tear, scratching and cosmetic changes, which happen normally as an item ages ,we all have to live with, and are not insurable by any policy we can arrange, but what about more serious damage, say you drop your watch or fell over and cracked the crystal or a fall damaged the mechanism of the watch.

These type of damages can mean expensive repair bills, some manufactures also insist on performing a full service when carrying out any repairs and that alone can mean hundreds of pounds in costs.

A policy arranged covers accidental damage and as there is no excess, repairs will be paid for in full.
